  • After graduating from the University of Western Australia with honours in 2009, Amanda completed a research honours degree. Initially, Amanda moved to Albany to help fill the shortage of dentists there. Although she only intended to stay for a couple of years, she worked in Albany for over a decade. Recently — and with some slight reluctance because the fishing isn’t as good! — she relocated back to Perth. We’re honoured to have her as part of our team here at Genesis Dental. Duties: Dr. Amanda enjoys all aspects of dentistry. She is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients and helping them achieve good oral health through preventive care and education. One of the greatest joys of her work is helping her patients overcome their dental anxieties. Amanda is trained in using nitrous oxide (happy gas) and does an exceptional job of creating a calm atmosphere for her patients. Her reassuring demeanor, knowledge of treating dental anxiety, and commitment to her patients have allowed her to help many people overcome their dental fears. Qualifications: Dr. Amanda graduated from the University of Western Australia with honours in 2009, winning numerous prizes as a student. She also completed a research honours degree, with a specific focus on composite restorations (white fillings). She is a member of the Australian Dental Association and regularly attends professional development courses to ensure that her knowledge and practices are consistent with the highest standards. Interests outside of Work/Qualities: Dr. Amanda strongly believes in helping the underprivileged and vulnerable members of society. She has previously travelled to Vietnam as a volunteer dentist with Christian Health Aid Team to provide dental treatment at orphanages. Dr. Amanda also regularly volunteers at St Patrick’s Community Support Centre as a dentist, providing free dental treatment for people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage. Outside of work, Dr. Amanda is a cellist in the Fremantle Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoys being outside, fishing, hiking/bushwalking, and camping.
