Dr Matthew Yakimoff grew up on the southern Gold Coast where his grandfather, George Yakimoff was a dentist for many years in nearby Coolangatta. Matthew graduated from Griffith University's with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and Graduate Diploma in Dentistry program in 2010. Since then, he has worked in various private practices as a dentist, including in Tweed Heads, and supervised the clinical training of dentists and oral health therapists at two Queensland universities. In 2012, he obtained a Master of Public Health, which ignited his interest in improving the oral health of communities. As a dentist, Matthew values preventative dental care, providing his patients with restorative treatments and strategies to keep their mouths healthy. He especially enjoys working in family-friendly practices, such as National Dental Care Tweed Heads, where there is an emphasis on relationship-building and creating environments where patients feel supported, valued, and cared for. Outside of work, he and his wife, Danielle enjoy reading, going to the movies, exercising, and entertaining their two working-breed dogs, Maggie and Lu, as well as their horse, Pilot.
