Raymond was recently awarded the Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Academic Prize, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement by a 2024 final-year dental student. Dr Thviya Nyanasegar is a dedicated and compassionate dentist committed to providing high-quality, patient-focused dental care with a gentle approach. Originally from Singapore, Dr Thviya moved to Tasmania at a young age before pursuing her studies in Melbourne. She earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Monash University, a Bachelor of Dental Science and a Master of Dentistry in Queensland. Dr Thviya has extensive experience in rural Queensland before joining Coastal Dental Care, where she continues to provide outstanding care to patients of all ages. She understands that visiting the dentist can be stressful, so she prioritises creating a positive, comfortable, and reassuring environment. Her gentle nature and empathetic approach make her particularly skilled in helping patients with dental anxiety or phobia feel at ease. Dr Thviya offers a comprehensive range of dental services, including preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. She believes in the power of patient education, ensuring individuals understand their oral health and treatment options. Whether it’s a routine check-up, fillings, crowns, or complex dental procedures, Dr Thviya is committed to delivering exceptional, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s needs. These early values naturally guided her towards a career in healthcare and ultimately dentistry, where she could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day. One of the aspects Dr Rosie enjoys most about dentistry is building genuine relationships with her patients. Dr Ankit Wadhawan completed his Bachelor of Oral Health and Graduate Diploma of Dentistry at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Ankit joined the team at Coastal Dental Care Redland Bay in 2016. Ankit places great emphasis and value on the relationships he builds with his patients, and with this combines his desire for continued education and training. He wants to stay at the forefront of technological advancements within dentistry and be able to offer the best for his patients, carrying out treatment at the highest standard of care. He focuses on addressing your specific concerns and explaining all suitable treatment options in a simple and easily understandable manner so that you can select the treatment that is best for you. He provides a fresh and modern approach, focusing on a positive experience for every patient. He prides himself on his relaxed and friendly nature, which will put you quickly at ease in his dental environment. Ankit has a particular interest in recreating smiles and restoring dental function, incorporating aspects of dental implants, crowns, veneers and bridgework. Ankit is also a fully accredited Invisalign provider. Outside of dentistry, Ankit loves spending time outdoors with his wife and three boys, and has a true passion for sport and food.

Her passion for continuous learning, combined with a gentle and caring approach, allows her to provide personalised dental care tailored to each patient’s individual needs. Dr Shahad enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a strong focus on preventive dental care, restorative dentistry, and helping patients maintain healthy smiles for life. She believes that building long-term relationships with her patients is one of the most rewarding parts of being a dentist. By taking the time to understand each person’s goals and concerns, she aims to create a positive dental experience where patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident about their oral health. Outside the practice, Dr Shahad enjoys spending time with her family and making the most of the Gold Coast lifestyle. Dr Noopur Sharma is a graduate of Griffith University, having completed her Bachelor of Oral Health and Graduate Diploma of Dentistry with several awards of Academic Excellence. She is gentle in nature & takes a calm, caring and friendly approach to all aspects of dentistry, particularly with anxious patients who are nervous about their appointments. She always holds the patient’s comfort in the highest regard, and strives to provide excellent quality of care with a fresh and modern approach. Furthermore, she continues to advance her knowledge through regularly attending continuing professional development courses to keep up to date with the latest technologies. Outside of the exciting world of dentistry, Noopur loves spending time with her husband, cooking and exploring new places to wine and dine with friends.

Joseph grew up on the Gold Coast and completed his Bachelor of Dental Health Science and Master of Dentistry at Griffith University. He was awarded the Sir Samuel Griffith scholarship, was a member of the Griffith Honours College and received the Griffith Award for academic excellence in all years of study. Joseph was drawn to dentistry because it can improve a person’s quality of life and confidence. He is passionate about providing conservative, pain-free treatment to his patients and focuses on prevention. Joseph takes a gentle approach to dentistry, emphasising the importance of patient education and motivation in achieving successful treatment outcomes. He keeps up-to-date with the latest scientific developments in dentistry and believes that ongoing post-graduate education is essential to provide patients with the highest standard of care. Outside work – Joseph’s hobbies include reading, cooking pasta, and exploring the city’s best cafes.

Growing up within the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales, Dr Glen Mckeough ventured down to study at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Here, he completed a Bachelor of Science – Health and Exercise Science. He graduated this degree with Honours and was soon after accepted into James Cook University in Cairns. In Cairns, he graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. While in Cairns, Dr Glen Mckeough took this opportunity to work within a number of different hospitals and dental clinics. Furthermore, he also worked within other locations such as Mareeba, Townsville and Mt Isa. Through these experiences, he was able to develop an exceptional skillset which we are eager to deploy within our Redland Bay practice. Outside of the clinic, Glen enjoys scuba diving, hiking and skiing.
