Dr Dinos Kountouras BDS, MSc, PGC, PhD is a highly experienced clinician with more than 35 years of experience in clinical dentistry, with particular expertise in prosthetic and implant dentistry. Renowned for his comprehensive and evidence-based approach to treatment, he combines advanced surgical and restorative knowledge with a strong commitment to long-term patient outcomes. Dr Kountouras completed his dental studies at the University of Liverpool, England, in 1991 before undertaking further postgraduate education at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute, University of London, where he completed both a Master of Science in Prosthetic Dentistry and a PhD in Prosthetic Dentistry and Biomaterials. Following his studies in the United Kingdom, Dr Kountouras continued his advanced training in the United States, completing the prestigious full-time postgraduate program in Oral Implantology at the Department of Implant Dentistry at New York University. Under the guidance of internationally recognised implant clinician Dr Dennis Tarnow, he received advanced training in both surgical implant placement and complex prosthodontic implant rehabilitation. He is the founding and honorary President of the Hellenic Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and serves as a key opinion leader for a number of international dental manufacturers and organisations. Dr Jhoan Guerrero grew up in Colombia and moved to Australia in 2013 to study English, not realising at the time that it would become his permanent home. He completed a Bachelor of Dental Science at one of the leading universities in his home country and later successfully passed the Australian Dental Council examinations. Dr Guerrero is currently a second-year resident in the Prosthodontics specialty program at The University of Queensland, where he is further developing his expertise in complex restorative and implant dentistry. Having lived in Perth, Hobart, and now the Gold Coast, Jhoan has embraced life across Australia. Some patients may recognise him from his previous work at CDC Burleigh Waters. Prior to practising as a dentist, he also worked as a dental technician, giving him valuable insight into the technical aspects of dentistry behind the scenes. Dr Guerrero enjoys dentistry for its unique combination of science, precision, and patient interaction. Originally from Greece, Dr George completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2002, followed by a year of compulsory service as a military dentist. He later pursued specialist training in the United States, commencing his postgraduate studies in Periodontology at the University of Louisville in 2004. In 2007, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Periodontology and subsequently achieved certification with the American Board of Periodontology in 2008. Dr George has held several respected academic and teaching positions throughout his career, including Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville and Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow at University College London (UCL).
