Dr Tristan Balthazaar is a graduate of the University of Melbourne and Monash University, having first gained a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Biomedical Science from Monash, and then a Doctorate of Dental Science from Melbourne in 2017.
Tristan’s education allowed him to gain experience in rural Victoria, taking him to areas including Moe, Shepparton, Wangaratta and Cobram. These placements, in addition to stints with other community clinics, helped develop his passion for making a difference in people’s lives by improving their oral health. Tristan stays up to date with the latest dental knowledge through his reading and by frequently attending courses.
Tristan’s experience has instilled in him the importance of comprehensive treatment planning, with an emphasis on preventative therapy. While he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, he has a particular interest in aesthetics-based restorative dentistry, prosthodontics and paediatrics.
Tristan delivers patient-centred care, taking pride in building relationships with his patients. His happy and friendly nature helps patients to feel at ease in the dental chair, a skill that is particularly useful when treating anxious patients and children.
