With nearly 35 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of treating generations of families in the same rural communities. Building trust and genuine connections with patients is at the heart of my practice, especially helping nervous patients feel at ease and supported. While I enjoy long-term, complex care, I’m also happy to provide one-off emergency or restorative treatments, particularly when I’m not based at a clinic full-time. I refer complex procedures like implants, wisdom tooth surgeries, and non-emergency root canals to ensure patients receive consistent, high-quality care. For over 25 years, I’ve worked with the same close-knit team, built on shared values of respect, compassion, and individualised patient care. I bring a practical, problem-solving approach, communicate in patient-friendly terms, and treat everyone from toddlers to centenarians with the same warmth and respect, regardless of background. Yamuna Shivananda graduated from UWA in 2013, where she worked at various private dental clinics in Perth. She first joined St John Dental (previously Apollo Dental) in 2015 and worked in both Joondalup & Armadale dental clinics. During her time at Joondalup and Armadale, Yamuna gained experience in different demographics and procedures. Following a short break, Yamuna re-joined St John Dental Joondalup in Nov 2019. Yamuna has an interest in cosmetic dentistry, pain-free dentistry, treatment of anxious patients and children’s dentistry. Aside from dentistry, she enjoys music, experimenting with plant-based recipes and animal rights activism.
