About
Services
Dr John Douyere is a Rural Generalist delivering GP services to health practitioners through Rural Doctors Foundation GPs4RuralDocs program.
Dr John Douyere will visit the communities of Charleville, Cunnamulla and Quilpie to provide regular face-to-face GP services to rural health practitioners throughout the year with telehealth services provided in between town visits.
The years John spent embedded in a rural community has given him extensive insight into the health needs and challenges of rural and remote communities and the health professionals who care for them.
After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1989, John spent time in Townsville, Ayr, Toowoomba, Charleville and Kilcoy before settling in Longreach. In Longreach, he worked for 23 years as a rural generalist with obstetrics and anesthetics advanced skills.
Over this time John developed additional skills in advanced skin cancer surgery and medical leadership. He was the owner of general practice clinics in Longreach and Barcaldine. Since January 2016 John has held the role of Medical Director of the QLD Rural Generalist Pathway.
John is passionate about this opportunity with Rural Doctors Foundation to provide much needed GP services for our rural health practitioners.
