As a proud father of two young boys, David understands what a privilege and honour it is to be able to care for women and couples as they grow their family, and he enjoys building sincere, trusting and effective relationships with his patients.
A specialist in gynaecology, fertility, and obstetrics, David can provide continuity of care from pre-conception, through to pregnancy care, birth, and beyond.
As an obstetrician, David’s expertise in high-risk pregnancy means skillful management of multiple pregnancies (including vaginal birth of twins), women at risk of preterm labour, and natural birth after a previous caesarean birth. David delivers babies at the Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital, Brisbane.
In addition to specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology, David has completed higher study in the assessment and management of fertility problems, to be awarded Master of Reproductive Medicine, and he works as a fertility specialist with Queensland Fertility Group (QFG).
David is also a highly-trained gynaecologist, with expertise in minimally invasive techniques, laparoscopic (“keyhole”) surgery for endometriosis and hysterectomy, and the management of menstrual abnormalities, PCOS, and cervical screening (Pap test) abnormalities.
David continues to play an active role in teaching specialists in training. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, and has authored several textbook and medical journal contributions.
David has extensive knowledge, specialist skills and experience in: Infertility assessment, assisted reproduction (including IVF), high- and low-risk pregnancy, caesarean section, vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), previous pregnancy loss, PCOS, menstrual problems, endometriosis, fibroids, and minimally-invasive surgery including hysterectomy.
