Dr Hugo Lee
Suite 605, 251 Oxford Street, Bondi Junction NSW
Dr. Hugo Lee brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to caring for his patients, with a focus on both adults and children's eye health and surgery. He graduated from one of Australia's top universities, the University of New South Wales, where he earned his combined science and medicine degrees, alongside with Dean’s List honour for research. He completed his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital and is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology (FRANZCO) and a member of Australian and New Zealand Society of Oculoplastic Surgery (ANZSOPS). After completing general ophthalmology training, Dr. Lee was awarded the prestigious Fred Hollows Scholarship, enabling him to contribute his knowledge and skills to the area of need via the Pacific Eye Institute in Fiji. After returning, he found that children's eye health is an underserviced subspecialty, even within Australia. This has led him to complete subspecialty fellowship programs in paediatric ophthalmology with the University of Toronto at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sickkids) in Canada. With his interest, he underwent further training in oculoplastic surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH) in Singapore. To hone in on paediatric oculoplastic conditions which are often rare, he has been a visiting fellow at the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) in Taiwan and a visiting scholar at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the USA. Currently, Dr Lee is appointed as a specialist consultant at Sydney Eye Hospital, Sydney Children's Hospital Network (Westmead) and Nepean Hospital and as a conjoint lecturer at the School of Medicine, University of Sydney. Dr Lee has a passion in research and providing high-quality care for patients in paediatric oculoplastic conditions.
