With more than seven years of clinical experience, Dr. Vivian Kong is passionate about delivering exceptional, patient-centred eye care that combines clinical excellence with genuine compassion. She believes that every patient deserves an individualised approach and is committed to providing evidence-based treatment tailored to each person's unique visual and ocular health needs. Vivian has developed a particular passion for the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease, recognising the significant impact this often-underestimated condition can have on quality of life. She understands that chronic dry eye affects far more than vision—it can interfere with work, reading, driving, and everyday comfort. Her goal is to identify the underlying cause of each patient's symptoms and create a personalised treatment plan that delivers long-term relief rather than simply masking the problem. To achieve the best possible outcomes, Vivian utilises advanced diagnostic imaging and some of the latest evidence-based technologies available in modern dry eye care. Her treatments include Intense Pulsed Light (Lumenis M22), Low-Level Light Therapy (MediLUX), LipiFlow Thermal Pulsation, BlephEx eyelid exfoliation, and Lacrimal Lavage, allowing her to tailor treatment to the specific cause of each patient's condition. Committed to lifelong learning and clinical excellence, Vivian recently completed further postgraduate studies in Dry Eye Management at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), ensuring her patients benefit from the latest research, innovations, and treatment approaches in this rapidly evolving field. She finds immense satisfaction in helping patients experience meaningful improvements in their comfort, vision, and overall quality of life. Prior to joining The Eye Practice, Vivian practised at the Australian College of Optometry in Melbourne, where she gained extensive experience managing a broad spectrum of complex ocular diseases and eye conditions. During her time there, she also held the roles of Clinical Educator and Site Manager, mentoring optometry students and newly graduated clinicians from the University of New South Wales, the University of Melbourne, Deakin University, and the University of Queensland. Her dedication to education and professional development reflects her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical care. Vivian's background in both public health and clinical optometry has given her a holistic understanding of the importance of preserving sight and promoting lifelong eye health. She is passionate about empowering patients through education, ensuring they understand their condition, their treatment options, and the steps they can take to protect their vision for the future. Known for her warm, approachable manner and meticulous attention to detail, Vivian takes the time to listen to her patients, answer their questions, and develop treatment plans that fit their individual lifestyles and goals. Whether managing chronic dry eye disease, diagnosing complex ocular conditions, or providing comprehensive eye examinations, her focus is always on delivering outstanding care with empathy, professionalism, and excellence. Outside the consulting room, Vivian enjoys keeping up with the latest developments in eye care research and is passionate about continually expanding her knowledge so she can provide the highest level of care to every patient she sees.
