She works with disabilities and special needs and has trained in Basic KeyWord Signing to help to communicate with non-verbal patients as well.
Sindy received her Optometry Degree at UNSW School of Optometry in 2004 and has since furthered her studies through Australian College of Optometry in Melbourne, completing a Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics in 2015 followed by an Advanced Certificate in Children’s Vision in 2018.
Sindy is currently a Supervisor at the UNSW Low Vision Clinic, both on campus at the Optometry Clinic, as well as at the Guide Dogs Low Vision Clinic in St Leonard's NSW. She volunteers at vision clinics such as the Special Olympics Soar and Roar day.
