Clinical Optometrist & Advanced Contact Lens Practitioner Kylie is our principal optometrist, she graduated as an Optometrist from QUT in 2009 with first class honours and was the recipient of the Optometry Australia Clinical Excellence Award in her final year. She is a therapeutically endorsed as well as CASA credentialed optometrist. Kylie is a supervising optometrist and lecturer at QUT in contact lens studies, and enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and clinical insights in optometry as an invited speaker at local and national professional optometry events. She has undertaken an observership within the contact lens service at the esteemed Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and was inducted as a Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association in 2016. Kylie is a state committee member for the CCLSA and is a paediatric aligned optometrist with the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Kylie enjoys practicing full scope optometry but has an interest and advanced skill set in complex contact lens fitting for keratoconus, corneal transplants, myopia control including orthokeratology, as well as for therapeutic cases such as severe dry eye and post-operative eye complications. She regularly accepts referrals and works collaboratively with local Brisbane optometrists and ophthalmologists to design custom contact lens solutions for their patients. Whilst Kylie may be highly credentialed as an optometrist, it is her compassionate nature, thorough and meticulous manner, as well as the genuine care and time she takes to clearly explain examination results that make her so highly regarded by our patients.

Clinical Optometrist & Contact Lens Practitioner Lucy completed her Bachelor of Vision Science and Master of Optometry, both with Distinction, at QUT. She is a therapeutically endorsed to prescribe ocular medications, and practices full-scope Optometry with a special interest in Paediatrics and Contact Lens Care. Lucy is known for her warm and compassionate nature, as well as her personalised approach and ability to build strong, trusting relationships with her patients, enabling her to deliver outstanding optometric care. During the final year of her Master’s Degree, Lucy was recognised for her clinical excellence in contact lens practice by being awarded the Johnson & Johnson MedTech Vision Made Possible™ Prize. She has a strong passion for contact lenses and enjoys helping patients achieve clear, comfortable vision through fitting orthokeratology (ortho-k), mini-scleral lenses, and complex soft contact lenses. Lucy enjoys paediatric optometry, she has completed the Paediatric Optometry Clinical Education Program and is formally aligned with Children’s Health Queensland and the Queensland Children’s Hospital under the Paediatric Optometry Alignment Program. She has gained clinical experience conducting vision screenings for paediatric patients in rural communities and participated in optometry placements across North Queensland. The time Lucy spent working with the Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council and the Bwgcolman Community School further deepened her passion for outreach optometry and her commitment to improving access to quality eye care in rural and Indigenous communities. These experiences strengthened her dedication to providing culturally sensitive care. She is passionate about working with patients from diverse cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds, and strives to deliver the highest standard of patient-centred eye care to all. Lucy is enthusiastic about everything optometry, and enjoys remaining at the forefront of evolving technologies to provide her patients with the latest advancements in eyecare. She is a regular attendee at both local and national optometry conferences and professional education events. Outside optometry, Lucy has an interest in designer fashion and loves spending time out in the sunshine – dipping her toes in the sand, and exploring new walks and caffeine venues with friends.
