Jamin (Jay) graduated from the QUT School of Optometry in 1996 and later completed his Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics. Since then, he has worked as an optometrist in both rural and suburban areas, gaining experience with a broad range of people and their eye care needs. His interests include management of eye conditions such as dry eye, cataract, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, as well as the ocular repercussions of general health problems such as diabetes. Jamin has a particular interest in patient education. He enjoys helping people understand what is happening to their eyes and the best way to care for them. During a sabbatical from optometry, Jamin completed a Bachelor of Science and PhD in Mathematics, and consequently lectured mathematics at UQ Ipswich. On his days off, Jamin enjoys board games (multi-player games: think Catan, not Chess) and pop culture (eg Marvel Cinematic Universe and Supanova). A few years ago, he achieved his lifelong goal of attending all four tennis grand slams. Jamin lives with his wife and 2 mischievous cats.
