I wanted to be an optometrist as I loved Maths, Physics and problem solving at school. I also enjoyed meeting new people and helping people wherever I could, and optometry was a great combination of all of my interests. I’ve been a practicing optometrist for over 30 years and it has been one of my most rewarding achievements. I’ve been with L&F Eyecare for nearly 20 years! In my spare time, I enjoy sailing, cycling, gym and ballroom dancing.

I’ve always had an interest in family optometry, I love learning more about people and their stories. I enjoy Optometry because it allows me to make a real difference in peoples lives and families. Outside of Optometry I enjoy reformer pilates, reading and hiking, Mt Dandenong thousand steps is one of my favourite hikes! I have enjoyed joining the L&F Eyecare team, who have been so supportive and friendly.

After completing his Optometry degree in Melbourne, Dennis has recently returned to the area, drawn back by his love for regional communities and his passion for building genuine, long-term relationships with his patients. His patient-centred approach and dedication to meeting healthcare needs make him a perfect fit for our practice. Dennis has a special interest in binocular vision and is committed to providing comprehensive, personalised eye care. His enthusiasm for community outreach has also taken him beyond Australia — he’s been involved with India TedCE, a program focused on treating tropical eye diseases and providing essential community eye care abroad. He was drawn to L&F Eyecare because of our shared values and our active role in giving back to the community — something Dennis feels strongly about. When he’s not caring for patients, you’ll likely find Dennis cooking up a storm, drawing, or working on his latest art project. He also enjoys life on his farm in Neerim North, where he looks after cattle and enjoys the serenity of country living.

I started at L&F Eyecare 15 years ago, and love the variety that country practice brings. I have experienced working in city settings, having relocated to Melbourne some 7 years ago. I enjoy having a patient centred approach and the challenge of addressing a broad range of cases. I am passionate about improving and optimising the visual and eye health outcomes of my patients. When not practicing optometry I am a busy mum to Xavier & Renee. I enjoy keeping fit, running a weekly Mainly Music session at our local church and baking.

I chose to be an optometrist as I have always been interested in health sciences and helping people. Optometry is a wonderful career in which we are enhancing and protecting our most precious sense - sight! Optometry demands a high degree of attention to detail and critical diagnostic ability, but fortunately very little out of hours emergency work. As an optometrist I enjoy being able to get to know people and understand their visual requirements, tailor solutions for their lifestyles as well as educate and explain ocular conditions. I feel privileged to be able to examine such an intriguing part of the body. Undoubtedly, the more you learn about the eye, the more you become amazed at its intricacy and complexity. In my spare time I play volleyball, sail, cross-country ski and enjoy drinking way too much coffee. I have been practicing optometry for 31 years, all with L&F Eyecare.
