Jacky has been passionate about optometry ever since being shown the miracle of contact lenses at 8 years of age. Having graduated from the University of Melbourne, Jacky has practiced in Perth, rural Victoria, and New York before making his home at Strachan Eyecare. He loves testing the eyes of each family member, particularly enjoying the challenge and joys of seeing children. He also loves take care of the grown-ups – including managing eye conditions such as glaucoma, having seen it affect both his parents. Jacky has completed postgraduate study in specialist areas of contact lenses, myopia management, children’s vision, culminating in a Fellowship at the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry. In his down time, Jacky loves following all sports, and is an Essendon Bombers, Manchester United and LA Lakers tragic. Along with his optometrist wife Noelle, they have young daughters to keep them busy outside of work, as well as a little Maltese dog!

Petra graduated from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Australian College of Optometry. A constant in the Strachan Eyecare family for over 20 years now, Petra has built a strong patient base in the Blackburn and Balwyn communities. Petra enjoys all aspects of Optometry, especially children’s vision and looking after those of the more experienced variety – her own family have given her valuable insight! In her spare time, Petra enjoys watching her daughters playing soccer, cooking and weekends away in country Victoria.
