Jacky has been passionate about optometry ever since being shown the miracle of contact lenses at 8 years of age. Having graduated from the University of Melbourne, Jacky has practiced in Perth, rural Victoria, and New York before making his home at Strachan Eyecare. He loves testing the eyes of each family member, particularly enjoying the challenge and joys of seeing children. He also loves taking care of the grown-ups – including the management of eye conditions such as glaucoma, having seen it affect both his parents. Jacky has completed postgraduate study in specialist areas of contact lenses, myopia management and children’s vision, culminating in a Fellowship at the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry. In his down time, Jacky loves following all sports, and is an Essendon Bombers, Manchester United and LA Lakers tragic. Along with his optometrist wife Noelle, they have young daughters to keep them busy outside of work, as well as a little Maltese dog!

Phoenix graduated from the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Melbourne. Previously, she has worked at Strachan Eyecare as an optical dispenser, where she has developed a strong rapport with the patients and the Blackburn community. With a kind, friendly personality, Phoenix enjoys all facets of optometry with a particular interest in contact lenses, being an orthokeratology contact lens wearer herself. In the process of completing further studies relating to children’s vision, Phoenix relishes the ability to help the vision of every family member. Outside of work, Phoenix enjoys café hopping, bubble tea, exploring rural towns across Victoria and collecting birthday freebies.

Christa has been working at Strachan Eyecare for almost 25 years, after finishing her Master’s Degree. With therapeutic qualification and a Diploma in Advanced Clinical Optometry, Christa also has particular skills in low vision, contact lenses and children’s vision. As well as working for Strachan Eyecare part time, Christa works at the Australian College of Optometry in their various clinics, and teaching the 4th and final year students. Christa also consults at Vision Australia and conducts examinations of overseas optometrist via OCANZ.
