Dr Hannah Skehan

Dr Hannah Skehan is a warm, engaging optometrist and co-founder of Belgrave Eye Care. She is known for her strong clinical expertise, calm and logical communication style, and genuinely compassionate approach to patient care. With extensive experience in emergency eyecare, ocular disease management — including glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts — contact lenses and children’s vision, Hannah provides thorough, evidence-based care for patients throughout Belgrave and the surrounding Hills communities. Hannah is experienced in up-to-date myopia management, including orthokeratology (Ortho-K), and is proficient in performing small in-office procedures such as lacrimal lavage and other dry eye management. Her clinical focus is on delivering accessible, full-scope optometry to support long-term eye health for families in the Yarra Ranges. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2018 with a Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours) and a Doctor of Optometry, Hannah has built a meaningful connection with the local community. She prides herself on clear, patient-centred communication, ensuring every patient leaves with a confident understanding of their vision and eye health. In addition to her work at Belgrave Eye Care, Hannah is a clinical supervisor at the University of Melbourne Eyecare Clinic, where she mentors emerging optometrists and shares her passion for high-quality, community-focused care. Outside the clinic, Hannah enjoys a vibrant and balanced lifestyle — swimming, relaxing in the sauna, and playing beach volleyball each week. She is also the proud owner of a mischievous British Blue cat (who occasionally visits Belgrave Eye Care!). A long-time vegetarian and enthusiastic traveller, Hannah loves exploring new places, whether overseas or discovering hidden gems across Victoria.
