Abbey graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy) and a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy). Her passion for osteopathy stems from her extensive background in sports, having played high-level basketball for over 12 years. Through this experience, Abbey has witnessed firsthand, and been surrounded by, numerous knee, hip, and ankle injuries. This exposure deepened her understanding of injury prevention and recovery, particularly in athletes and active individuals.
As part of her academic journey, Abbey completed her master’s research on post-operative rehabilitation following knee replacement surgeries, further deepening her understanding in knee and joint care. She also has a strong appreciation for the interrelationship between structure and function, which is reflected in her treatment approach.
Abbey’s approach to treatment is holistic, focusing not only on the physical body but also considering the psychological and lifestyle factors that influence a patient’s pain experience. She believes in empowering her patients through education and actively involving them in their rehabilitation process.
Abbey has a special interest in treating:
Knee, hip, and ankle injuries
Neck pain, headaches, and migraines
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
Postural and ergonomic imbalances
Sports and running injuries
In her spare time, Abbey enjoys scenic long-distance running, strength training, cooking, and spending time by the beach with friends and family.
