Ruben is one of our gun Physiotherapists at Bioathletic, bringing a movement-focused, no-fuss approach to injury rehab and performance. With a background in competitive soccer and a current spot in the Warringah Cricket Club lineup, Ruben knows firsthand what it takes to bounce back from injury and perform at your best. He’s got a sharp eye for gym-based rehab, post-op recovery and treating neck, shoulder and back issues—whether you’re an athlete chasing peak performance or just trying to stay pain-free in everyday life. Ruben’s all about making your rehab simple, actionable and actually enjoyable (well, almost). When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Ruben at the gym, out on the cricket pitch or tracking down the best burgers on the Northern Beaches—purely for recovery purposes, of course. Physiotherapist

Tomorrow at 9:00 am
Tim is a key part of the Bioathletic Physiotherapy team who found his interest in sports science from being in and out of the physio with constant injuries from playing school rugby. Tim was more curious after every session and, coupled with a love of sport, admits that there wasn’t any other choice other than becoming a Physiotherapist. Tim’s philosophy is the old “Give someone a fish and they eat for a day. Teach someone how to fish and they eat for life”. It’s not just about curing pain, but also delivering ways to manage issues and/or bulletproof against re-injury altogether. In particular, he’s got a knack for conditions of the shoulder and spine, and he loves working with rugby, golf and basketball athletes. Tim is Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified, which means he gets to combine his love of golf with his Physio skills! He offers golf-specific assessments which identify physical impairments linked with adverse swing characteristics and increased risk of injury. And nothing brings him more joy than helping golfers smash their goals and lower their handicap. Find out more about how and why TPI screening works. Although related to the former Australian test cricketing great Bill O’Reilly, Tim wasn’t able to draw on the genetic advantage to enable a career in cricket. Instead Tim is an avid golfer and spends time in the gym or out for a run.

Tomorrow at 12:30 pm
Amanda is an experienced Remedial Massage Therapist at Bioathletic who thrives on being part of a team. She loves a challenge with complex cases and gets her biggest kick out of just knowing that she has skills which can have a dramatic impact on the lives of her patients. Amanda has a real thirst for knowledge and will dive into the nitty gritty details at first chance to get a greater understanding of why joint range is limited or the technical (and super complex) mechanisms behind your pain. With her qualifications in pregnancy massage, she loves working with her Pre and Post Natal clientele. She’s an amazing therapist to have in your corner if you’ve got big goals or a burning desire to better your own health. Prior to her career in massage therapy, Amanda worked on some of the most forgettable TV series in Australia – so forgettable she doesn’t even bother dropping names. As a Remedial Massage Therapist, Amanda is HICAPS eligible. That means you can swipe your private health fund at the time of the session and your rebate is deducted from the session fee.

Trav is our Founder and Chief Visionary at Bioathletic. A multi-skilled Physiotherapist and Strength & Conditioning Coach, Trav dreamed up the Bioathletic concept after spending many years working with athletes and numerous rugby union teams, where the urban athlete could be treated in the same way as the professional athlete. Two successful clinics later, Trav still believes that rest is the enemy of recovery and gets a kick out of seeing our urban athletes leave in better shape than they were pre-injury. After a taking a brief adjournment from his clinical role Trav is now back taking appointments and working closely with Manly Rugby Union in the Shute Shield competition, while also nurturing relationships with our partners, chugging coffee at record speeds and building our awesome and ever-growing team of health professionals. Like the rest of our team, Trav loves keeping active at the gym, spending days in the mountains or the beach and taking adventures with his young family – all of which help to counter the effects of his addiction to M&M’s

Ali is a Titled Sports Physiotherapist and Chief Problem-Solver at Bioathletic. She is affectionately known as a Rockstar around here because of her wealth of experience and frequent back stage access to big sporting events like the Olympic Games and World Cups where she is often the Physiotherapist for the South Pacific Island nation of Tonga. Like the rest of our team, Ali gets a kick out of getting our urban athletes out of pain and back to what they love, often setting a stop watch on herself and trying to make it happen in the shortest time possible. She’s got a knack for conditions of the back and neck and she’s always had a soft spot for working with rugby players after over 20 years with Manly Rugby Union. Ali keeps herself active with yoga, Pilates, swimming and chasing the Roger Federer entourage at Olympic events. She’s an avid supporter of Youth in Union, who aims to develop athletic talent in underprivileged youth, and she’s passionate about keeping kids in sport for life, without the pressures of representative teams and competitiveness eroding the fun children gain from sport.
