Phil Graduated with a Master of Physiotherapy from Griffith University, prior to this he also completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science and has developed a keen interest in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in the 3 years he has been involved in the profession.
Originally from New Zealand, Phil settled on the Gold Coast in 2009; where he has enjoyed the lifestyle and way of life we are blessed to live with in this part of the world. Here Phil enjoyed opportunities to further pursue and enjoy the water-based sports he is passionate about.
He has taken part in a number of sports throughout different times in his life, particularly Surf Life Saving, Rugby Union and Swimming. However, throughout his experiences with sports, recurring injuries complicated his ability to participate, and limited his success. Phil’s thirst for knowledge and understanding in human performance then influenced him to pursue Physiotherapy as a career. He is passionate about working with young athletes, to assist them in achieving results reflective of their own commitment and effort.
Phil believes that all treatment plans should be thorough and individualised to the person’s specific musculoskeletal needs. These should not be designed for a quick fix, as this leads to recurrence of symptoms and injuries. Quality and continuity of care are essential in enabling top performance and quality of life, to ensure risk of re-injury is not a barrier to their achievement and success.
