MBBS, BMedSc (Hons I), GradDipOphthSc Dr Joshua Givorshner completed his undergraduate degree in medical science with a major in microbiology, graduating with first-class honours for his treatise in molecular virology. He then went on to complete his medical training at The University of Sydney, graduating in 2014. Prior to his training in ophthalmology, his pre-vocational clinical portfolio includes significant experience in emergency and intensive care medicine. He completed his ophthalmology training in the Sydney Eye Hospital network between 2021 and 2025, gaining experience in several major metropolitan Sydney hospitals and training in rural locations including Darwin and Wagga Wagga. During this time, he also completed his graduate diploma in ophthalmic science with The University of Sydney. Dr Givorshner has worked within the Sydney Eye Hospital network over the last decade and held the position of the Professorial Senior in his final year of ophthalmology training in 2025. He has a keen interest and involvement in teaching, co-ordinating the teaching programmes for all Sydney Eye network training registrars in 2025 and has been significantly invested in medical student and junior medical officer supervision and training throughout his career. He is a clinical associate lecturer with The University of Sydney/Save Sight Institute and has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Clinically, Dr Givorshner is a comprehensive general ophthalmologist, with experience in cornea, uveitis, medical retina and neuro-ophthalmology. He has a subspecialty interest in the health and diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, including the cornea and cataract surgery.

Dr Sandhu is a fellowship-trained glaucoma sub-specialist and comprehensive ophthalmologist. Dr Sandhu is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists as well as The Australia and New Zealand Glaucoma Society. He is an experienced cataract and glaucoma surgeon with a proficiency in the management of complex/advanced cataracts, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), glaucoma and retinal diseases including macular degeneration and retinal vein occlusions. He is also well experienced in pterygium surgery. Dr Sandhu graduated from the University of New South Wales Medical School in 2009 having obtained a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) as well as his medical degree. He has since obtained a Masters of Medicine (specialising in ophthalmic science) from the University of Sydney whilst completing his specialist ophthalmology training at the renowned Sydney Eye Hospital. He completed a Comprehensive Ophthalmology Fellowship at the Concord Repatriation General Hospital which has provided him with a rich, diverse experience throughout the various sub-specialties in ophthalmology. He then undertook a complex anterior segment, MIGS and Glaucoma Sub-Specialty Fellowship at the renowned Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospital based in the West Midlands in the United Kingdom. He is actively involved in research, having contributed to several internationally recognised journals and is engaged in the teaching of medical students, junior doctors and ophthalmology trainees through his role as a consultant ophthalmologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Newtown, Sydney. He is also a keen (albeit tragic) golfer, and enjoys spending quality time with his young family.

Dr Parker completed his undergratuate studies in Sydney, followed by medical training at Flinders University, SA. He completed his general medical training at Liverpool Hospital, NSW. He completed ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital and then further training at Royal North Shore Hospital and Westmead Hospital. He completed his fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK. He holds a Masters of Medicine (Ophthalmic Science) from the University of Sydney and now is a clinical lecturer in this program. He is active in clinical research and has published in peer-reviewed journals. He has been actively involved in the training of upcoming surgeons in Australia and the UK. Dr Parker will see any patients with any ocular complaints. He does, however, have a special interest in plastic surgery relating to the eye and orbit. Before any surgery, he will take the time necessary to ensure patients understand treatment options and any non-surgical options available. His surgical technique is of the highest quality. After surgery, he will manage the patient’s recovery and direct any further treatment necessary. He will always keep the referrer, and any other relevant specialists or practitioners, informed of the patients progress and will engage other subspecialists care if required.

Dr Carolyn Ross is a general ophthalmologist with subspeciality expertise in Cataract Surgery, Cornea and External Eye Disease and Paediatrics. Also, Dr Ross is the Senior Clinical Lecturer at Sydney Medical School, the Faculty of Medicine and Health, the University of Sydney. Dr Ross trained at Sydney Eye Hospital and gained particular experience in complicated Paediatric Ophthalmology in her final year in the Professorial Unit. Subsequently Dr Ross completed a Fellowship in Cataract, Cornea and External Eye Disease at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide. Dr Ross is a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney Private and St George Private Hospitals and is Head of the Corneal Unit at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Dr Carolyn Ross is actively involved in teaching colleagues, trainee ophthalmologists, general practitioners and University of Sydney medical students. Dr Ross is also involved in collaborative clinical research projects and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Corneal Society and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists Paediatric Special Interest Group.
