Dr Sunil Warrier

Dr Sunil Warrier is a Brisbane-based ophthalmologist with extensive experience in routine and complex cataract surgery. He offers his patients access to both standard and premium intraocular lens technology, including multifocal lenses. Dr Warrier consults at Vision Eye Institute Brisbane and operates at the co-located RiverCity Private Hospital, where he performs no-gap and bulk-billed cataract surgery. He is the Head of Department at The Mater Hospital in Brisbane and previous Director of Training for ophthalmologists in Queensland. Dr Warrier has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and continues this interest in research to this day. He has a passion for teaching both medical students and ophthalmology trainees, both in his private practice and via his public appointment at The Mater Hospital, Brisbane. Dr Warrier grew up in Nambucca Heads, on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. He obtained his medical degree from Flinders University in South Australia. He then underwent residency training in medicine and surgery at The Royal Adelaide Hospital and completed a master’s degree in medicine, before moving to Queensland to undertake specialist training in ophthalmology. Dr Warrier has 18 years of ophthalmology surgical experience. He offers no-gap cataract surgery and bulk-billed cataract surgery through Vision Eye Institute Brisbane and RiverCity Private Hospital.
