Coronavirus Symptoms

One of the difficulties of diagnosing COVID-19 outside of official coronavirus testing is the fact that the virus shares most common symptoms with the common cold.

When coronavirus symptoms start?

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), COVID-19 symptoms may appear up to 14 days after exposure. Some people contracting COVID-19 will not display any symptoms and around 80% of those who contract the disease will recover without needing any special treatment. Around 1 in 6 people who contract COVID-19 develop serious symptoms and difficulty breathing.

The latest variant, the rather frighteningly named Omicron Variant, is believed to be relatively benign, with most people only experiencing light symptoms. That said, the new variant appears to be extremely contagious, so precautions should still be taken.
