Dr. Chandika Wewelwala completed his accredited surgical training at Monash Health Victoria and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2020.
Following this, he completed two further years of subspecialized training under the BreastSurgANZ, the peak body governing accreditation and training of breast surgeons in Australia and New Zealand. During his first year of post-fellowship training, he worked at the Auckland City hospital in New Zealand.
This experience gave him excellent exposure to various breast surgeries and helped develop his expertise in extensive general surgical procedures. He also developed skills in managing a variety of skin cancers during this period.
Dr. Chandika then returned to Monash health as a breast surgical oncology fellow to complete the accredited training in breast surgery and gained expertise in complex breast surgical procedures. He can now offer the latest surgical management services for breast cancer and other related diseases.
He currently works as a consultant general and breast surgeon at Monash Health, Warragul hospital and Wonthaggi hospital.
