Howdy!
I’m Shranal Prasad, one of the Physiotherapists at Activ Therapy Prestons.
As a kid, I loved playing sports! I would do everything from soccer to swimming to oz tag and even softball. I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a path in health and fitness.
Because I live an active lifestyle, I have had my fair share of injuries. In fact, I noticed the more active I was, the more injuries and flare-ups I had! So I began to ask myself: “How do I continue to play the sports I love without getting injured?”
This drove me to learn martial arts and eventually become a coach. I’ve been doing martial arts for almost 10 years, learning skills in karate, boxing, kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do, Taekwondo and martial arts tricking. As I became stronger, more athletic and in control of my body’s movements, I noticed I had much fewer aches and niggles.
But there was still something missing…
I knew that I wanted to learn more and do more so that I could help my friends, colleagues and fellow athletes be pain-free, injury-free and continue to play the sports that they love.
So I decided to study Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney in order to help others at a deeper level. I know the frustrations and fears of being constantly injured and forced to stay away from the sports you love. With my own personal experiences and recovery, I know that I’m in the best position to help others recover faster and perform better.
Whether you just want to get of pain, prevent injuries from returning, or improve your sporting performance by applying optimal human biomechanics, I am happy and excited to help you with your goals!
